2024 ยท Website / Script
A script that fills websites with virtual water, rendering them unusable until visitors mop the water up. Created as an exploration of subversive interactions in digital media and the question "What if a website was like the Titanic, what if a website could sink?", and inspired by a conversation with artist Doriane Timmermans during their Declarations project.
The mopping action and list of flooded websites are multiplayer, so visitors see the same water level rise and fall on each website, the act of digital mopping becomes a collective collaboration between everyone who visits the site even though they may never speak or interact in any other way.
